Ir. Wayan Suparta, Ph.D. is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Naresuan University, Thailand. He received his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Electrical, Electronics, and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and later earned a Professional Engineer degree (Ir.) in Electrical Engineering with summa cum laude honors from the Indonesian Institute of Technology (ITI). Following his Ph.D., he served at UKM as a Postdoctoral Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor from 2008 to 2017. Prof. Suparta has played a leading role in advancing international research collaboration and scholarly dissemination, including initiating and organizing major international conferences such as IconSpace (2009), STACLIM (2014), CUSME (2020), CONSER (2022), and NUSTARC (2025). His teaching and research interests span polar research, communication systems, digital signal processing, intelligent and autonomous systems, machine learning, geospatial technology, and DIY drone development, with particular emphasis on GPS/GNSS and IoT-based systems. As of 2025, he has authored over 250 indexed publications and 10 reference books, and is actively involved in academic publishing as an editor-in-chief, editorial board member, reviewer for reputable journals, and assessor for international research grants, as well as serving as a visiting professor and lecturer at several universities in Southeast Asia (2017–2024).
