Objective of Session – “Knowledge Impact & Digital Futures”

The session “From Research to Impact: Visibility in the Digital Era” aims to explore how research outputs can achieve greater visibility, accessibility and measurable impact in a digital-first world. It emphasizes the importance of open science, digital identifiers, altmetrics and collaborative platforms in ensuring that knowledge contributes meaningfully to all 17 SDGs. By positioning researchers and institutions as global knowledge leaders, the session highlights strategies for enhancing visibility, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and aligning research with societal needs.

Digital Visibility Tools: ORCID, Researcher IDs, Scopus and other platforms for researcher recognition.

Open Science & Data Sharing: Building repositories, commons and collaborative platforms for global access.

Altmetrics & Impact Measurement: Beyond citations—tracking societal, industrial and policy impact of research.

Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: Linking engineering, health, environment and social sciences for SDG-driven outcomes.

Capacity Building: Training researchers in digital literacy, communication and global engagement.

Global Knowledge Diplomacy: Partnerships across institutions, industries and governments to amplify research impact.

AI & Digital Futures: Leveraging AI, IoT and big data for knowledge dissemination and visibility.
