As part of our upcoming ICDALESH 2026, IFERP is introducing a series of Awards and Scholarships to recognise outstanding researchers, impactful research presentations, distinguished academic leaders, and institutions demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development.

These recognitions celebrate excellence while encouraging researchers, educators, students, and institutions to keep contributing to knowledge, innovation, and societal progress.

The IFERP Best Research Paper Award recognises an outstanding research paper that demonstrates academic excellence, originality, methodological rigour, practical relevance, and a meaningful contribution to its field.

The award aims to encourage innovative and ethical research while recognising work that advances knowledge or addresses significant societal, industrial, environmental, or technological challenges.

Eligibility
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral programme.
  • Must have submitted and presented an original research paper at an IFERP-affiliated international conference.

Recognising the Researchers of Tomorrow

The IFERP Emerging Researcher Award recognises an early-career researcher who demonstrates exceptional research capability, originality, academic integrity, and the potential to make a sustained contribution to their field.

The award seeks to highlight promising researchers whose work demonstrates credible potential for academic, industrial, societal, or environmental impact, while supporting their development as future research leaders.

Eligibility
  • Must be an early-career faculty member actively engaged in research.
  • Must have published at least one significant research paper or contribution within the last three years.

IFERP SDG Future Presentation Award

Research That Inspires Sustainable Change

The IFERP SDG Future Presentation Award honours presentations that effectively communicate innovative ideas, research, or practices contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The award places emphasis on clarity, engagement, originality, and the ability to inspire action.

Eligibility
  • Open to students, researchers, and professionals presenting at IFERP conferences.
  • The presentation must:
    • Explicitly connect with one or more SDGs.
    • Contain original content with appropriate citations.
    • Be delivered in English or the host-country language.
    • Include visual aids such as slides, infographics, or multimedia.

The IFERP Institutional SDG Excellence Award recognises institutions in the host country that demonstrate excellence in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into education, research, governance, and community engagement.

The award celebrates a holistic institutional commitment to sustainable development and recognises institutions that demonstrate meaningful integration of sustainability into their academic and institutional practices.

Eligibility
  • Open to universities, colleges, and research institutions in the host country.
  • Eligible institutions should demonstrate:
    • SDG integration within curriculum, research, and outreach.
    • Institutional policies aligned with sustainability.
    • Partnerships with government, industry, or NGOs.
    • A minimum of five years of institutional operation.

IFERP Lifetime Achievement Award

Honouring a Lifetime of Academic Leadership

The IFERP Lifetime Achievement Award honours distinguished academic and institutional leaders aged 75 years or above who have demonstrated exceptional lifelong contributions to education, research, innovation, and sustainable development.

The award celebrates visionary leadership, enduring impact, mentorship, and a legacy of excellence that has shaped institutions and inspired generations.

Eligibility
  • Be 75 years of age or older at the time of nomination.
  • Hold or have held a senior leadership position such as Vice Chancellor, Vice President, Dean, or President.
  • Have a minimum of 30 years of service in academia, research, or institutional leadership.
  • Demonstrate contributions to policy-making, institutional development, and global academic collaboration.
  • Have evidence of mentorship, capacity building, and societal impact.
  • Have been recognised by peers, institutions, or professional bodies for sustained excellence.

Supporting the Next Generation of Researchers

The IFERP Emerging Researcher Scholarship is intended to identify and support promising early-career researchers who demonstrate strong academic potential, research capability, originality, and a commitment to generating meaningful societal or scientific impact.

The scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate a combination of academic merit, research potential, and/or financial need.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be a full-time student at a recognised educational institution.
Demonstrate financial need, academic merit, or research potential.

Recognition That Goes Beyond the Conference

These awards and scholarships are intended to extend the value of the conference beyond the presentation of research.

Through these recognitions, IFERP seeks to celebrate exceptional research, encourage emerging scholars, acknowledge institutional sustainability initiatives, honour distinguished academic leadership, and support the researchers of tomorrow.

Awardees and scholarship recipients will be recognised as part of the respective conference proceedings and award ceremony.
