Professor Lilik Sutiarso is a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, where he has served since 1990. He was Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (2012–2016) and President of the Indonesian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE). He earned his Ph.D. in Intelligent Control Systems for Agricultural Machinery from Tsukuba University, Japan, a Master’s from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a Bachelor’s degree from UGM. His expertise lies in agricultural machinery and systems engineering, with research focusing on biosystems modelling, simulation, and artificial intelligence in precision agriculture. He collaborates across disciplines and has published extensively in international journals. He currently leads a consortium developing AI-based decision support systems for smallholder farmers. He is a certified Professional Engineer (2017), ASEAN Engineer (2023), and APEC Engineer (2025).
